Crowds Lived for Love Games! Live!
Yoohoo,
It’s me, Flaminia (´◡`❁)
Fashionista, bloggeress, and now Hilltown Renowned Game Show Hostess!
Last night I hosted Love Games! Live! at the Goldenrod Country Inn. The show was directed, produced by, and costarring Eric Frary, one of the owners of the Inn.
Today I’ll tell you about it! I can’t go through every moment of the show; It would make it harder to recycle material You kinda had to be there. I can give you some juicy details, behind the scenes secrets, and my objectively correct opinions ✧( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
Most of the show we played the Dating Game and the Newlywed Game with audience members. It was such a treat doing something so interactive.
We had some other surprises too.
Before the show we made a couple “commercials” that we aired in between games. I wrote and edited these myself. I got help with filming, acting, and props from some friends. I cast Enigma as a big part in one of them since we were filming that day anyways (more info on that project soon).
When it was time to get ready, I realized something terrible. I forgot all of my makeup brushes and my eyelashes at home. There wasn’t enough time to go get them, or to print out missing milk cartons with their photo. I was able to finger paint most of my face fine, and luckily fellow Goldenrod Gal Peachy Creme saved the day with some last-minute lashes.
I’m going to try to recreate the look with better makeup soon for photos! The outfit was so so cute, so I want to give it the proper Flaminieditorial it deserves.
I was nervous about the parts of the show I couldn’t prepare for! We recorded skits, and rehearsed bits, but there was no way to know what contestants would say beforehand. I had no reason to doubt myself though. I mean come on; It’s me, Flaminia, we’re talking about. I didn’t miss a beat.
It was an honor to put on a show that was entertaining both for brand new audiences, and for seasoned performers.
Drag is more popular than ever, yet it’s rare to work on shows with this much effort and love put into them. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have this much creative freedom, and for getting to use my real voice.
Thank you so so much to everyone who came, and everyone who made the show possible. Especially Eric ♥ We took a lot of creative risks, and it really paid off.
This has been a terrific year so far, and I’m so excited to keep doing more. See you soon.
Yours,
-Flaminia
