Someone I’m sure
Cut me some slack, the next show’s not til November. As soon as I know who’s in it I’ll put them right here in these beautiful little circles. Ok?
Another performer
Wow give it up for this one right here. Their makeup is so blended you can hardly see it at all. Probably because this is an empty image. Wanna know as soon as the cast is announced? Register for Flaminiupdates at the bottom of the page!
And me, Flaminia
Besides being an absolutely gorgeous and sensational hostess, Flaminia (that’s me) is an enchanting chanteuse. I’ve loved to sing as long as I can remember. I’ve been a drag queen since I turned 18, I’m 22 now, and I’ve been 22 for 3 years, so if my math is right (it usually isn’t) that means I’ve been doing this for 7 years. If only there was a website to learn more about me, Flaminia…
questions & Answers
What is this venue and where is it?
The New Cambridge Project is a recently opened brewery located at 139 Center Street, Bristol CT. There’s a big free parking lot when you turn just past a bright yellow garage door.
How long is the show?
There will be an introduction, all the performers will do a number, then there’s an intermission with a fun activity, then all the performers will do another number, and then if you’d like you can get a picture with the cast! In total it’s about an hour and a half.
What’s a drag show like?
This show has a rotating cast, and I pick performers that will give you a good sample of the different types of drag out there! The majority of numbers are lip syncs, but there’s a lot of variety to that. It could be an energetic pop song with a focus on dance, a mix of songs and movie quotes acted out for comedy, or something totally different. I usually sing live.
There are drag kings?
Yep! The mainstream notion of drag is that it’s men putting on feminine personas, but that’s not always the case. Kings have existed for about as long as queens have. Some queens are women out of drag too. Drag is really just about creating a persona (I would argue that Dolly Parton is a drag queen and most pro wrestlers are drag kings).
Should I bring anything?
Tipping during a performance is always encouraged, but never required. We aren’t doing this for the money… we’re doing this for fun and attention! Oh, if you want to you can bring some old magazines or scrap material to use during intermission.
Is there food?
For now, there’s hot dogs and beer for sale. You’re welcome to bring food!
Is this show 21+?
Nope! The venue is all ages. The show is intended for mature audiences. Some performances may include crude humor, risqué outfits, or other adult themes. Consider it roughly PG-13 (idk anyone at the ESRB to give us an official rating but that’s my flaminiapinion)
